OITA BAMBOO ART & LIGHTS 2024 "TAKE-E" will be held at the Atrium on the 1st floor of the Oita Prefectural Art Museum.
Oita Prefecture is the largest producer of "Madake" bamboo in all of Japan. This high-quality bamboo is used in a variety of ways, from the production of daily-use items and souvenirs to stunning works of art. included among these is Beppu Craft-a traditional, nationally designated form of bamboo craft, loved widely throughout the country. At TAKE-E, visitors will enjoy a chance to see, touch, taste and listen to bamboo in its various fascinating forms, garnering new insights into its charming world. As well as witnessing bamboo artisans at work, by nightfall the museum will be illuminated, taking on a magical ambience.
