Takeda City Library
Designed by Takao Shiotsuka Atelier and opened in May 2017, the exterior of the Takeda Municipal Library is designed to blend in with the cityscape of Takeda. Inside the library, where light is diffused by a mesh ceiling, bookcases of different heights (made of cedar-accumulated wood from the prefecture) are arranged in accordance with the wind currents blowing on the site, inspired by the walls of Oka Castle and the topography of Takeda.
