The Beppu International Convention Center "B-CON Plaza", designed by architect Arata Isozaki, was completed in 1995.
It is a large convention facility consisting of a convention hall, entrance hall, philharmonia hall conference building, and global tower, with a maximum capacity of 8,000 people. It also has a variety of conference halls, both large and small, to hold meetings, exhibitions, sporting events, and major events for celebrities from around the world.

In addition, the observatory tower “Global Tower” on the premises offers a panoramic view of the precious night scenery, which has been registered as a Japan Night View Heritage Site.
